IP address and AS number policies are developed through a bottom-up process of consultation and consensus in Korea.

Policy Development Process in Korea

1st step : KRNIC of KISA raises policy proposal or amendment by conducting ISP survey and researching global policies.

2ns step : KRNIC of KISA drafts policy and consults to Internet Address Policy Committee (IAPC) which consists of 10 members from Academia (5 professors), Government (1 gov.official & 2 lawyers) as well as NGO (2 CEOs).

3rd step : IAPC reviews policy proposal for a consensus and reports the results to the Korea Communications Commission for a final approval.

4th step : The Korea Communications Commission approves the reviewed policy and requests implementation to KRNIC of KISA.
